You could say the food in your fridge went off, which means that the food is now very old, it smells bad and it's not good to eat. 'The food has gone off!'

A bomb can go off, which means a bomb explodes!

You could also say that a person can go off as well. If somebody gets very, very angry and starts shouting, they lose their temper, you could say: 'He went off!' He went off at me suddenly! I don't know why he went off!

If you're organising a party or a meeting and it was very successful, you can say: 'The party went off really well' or 'The meeting went off really well'. Everybody was happy, everyone was satisfied or everyone had a good time. The party went off really well!

If you go off it means that you leave, you go somewhere else.

So, for example, I didn't like the party, so I went off early.

And you can also go off something. So if you stop liking something. For example, you could go off a type of food. You could go off cheese, for example. It means you don't like it anymore. So I used to like cheese, but I've gone off it now.

You can also go off a person. You could say: 'She used to love her boyfriend, but she's gone off him now'. She doesn't love him anymore!
